As the modern world teeters on the brink of war, a poet named Albion Moonlight makes a desperate pilgrimage across a vast and treacherous landscape to meet with a mysterious savior named Roivas. Haunted by visions and burdened by faith, Albion is accompanied by a ghostly band of followers who believe their quest will awaken God’s mercy and restore tranquility to the Earth. But as their voyage darkens and the world descends into chaos, Albion must confront a terrifying question: is he, too, on the path of madness and murder?
Told in the form of a journal, the film blends documentary and scripted elements in the form of personal insights, character studies, verse, surreal imagery and historical reflections - all of which mirror the mind of a man navigating between dream and despair. Drawing on the political and artistic radicalism of author Kenneth Patchen, the film is a meditation on the human spirit in crisis - a plea and protest for peace beyond traditional means.
